Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- ½ cup pecans, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ⅛ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ lemon, juiced
- Freshly ground black pepper, optional
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-low heat. Once hot, toast pecans, garlic and red pepper flakes for about 1 minute. Transfer mixture to a plate and set aside.
- Increase heat to medium-high and add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the green beans and salt and saute for 5 to 8 minutes, or until beans reach desired doneness.
- Add lemon juice, then turn off the heat and add pecan mixture back to the skillet.
- Top green beans with freshly ground pepper before serving, if desired.
