Easy Marinara Sauce

Simple recipe for Italian marinara sauce calls for tomatoes, garlic and basil.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 (28-ounce) can whole peeled Italian tomatoes with their juices, crushed by hand
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • basil sprigs
  • ½ teaspoon salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in saucepan over low heat, stirring to combine.
  2. Serve over your favorite pasta.
