Happy October! This month brings lots of yummy fall foods, and food holidays. We’re celebrating apples, caramel, chili, pasta, popcorn and pretzels – all in October! But to me, the most important celebration that occurs throughout October is National Cookie Month!

Cookies are one of the best types of dessert, in my opinion. They’re extremely easy to eat, come in lots of different shapes and sizes, and are extremely versatile. Cookies can satisfy your craving for something rich and chocolatey, or take on a nutty or fruity persona. Cookies can be sweet or savory, used as the “bread” in a tasty cookies and cream sandwich, and we can’t forget plain old cookie dough! What other dessert can you eat in raw form (without the eggs of course) that tastes almost as good as the baked form?

Check out some of our delicious cookie recipes, and take a look at some favorites from our blogger friends below. What’s your favorite kind of cookie? Tell us in the comments!

  1. Wow, those look amazing. I want to try the rosemary asiago one. As for my favorite cookie, my grandma used to make a meringue cookie with chocolate chips. They were an extra special treat for us grand kids when she put red food coloring in the batter and made them pink!

  2. YAY!! Movita’s is on top!!
I made those fab cookies last week and they were a HUGE HIT.
Absolutely going to stay in my cookie book.

Sent some to a company up in Port Townsend, too, as they took good “customer care” service to my husband. I love to pass goodies around———x
And I can tell that you do, too =)
