Red Perilla

Red Perilla, also called shiso, is an herb from the mint family. The red leaf varieties stand out especially well in herb gardens and have an anise-like flavor. Shiso works very well in salads, stews and noodles as an aromatic. Some also consider the herb to have medicinal benefits; In traditional Chinese medicine, the plant is used to ease the symptoms associated with the common cold.
