Wheat is Montana’s leading cash crop, and the state ranks fourth among the wheat-producing states in the nation. Although wheat is grown in nearly all counties in Montana on more than 8,950 farms, the state’s largest grain-producing area is in the north-central part of Montana called the “Triangle Area.”
