There's no telling what transformed it into a household name – maybe it was “Get Your Kicks on Route 66,” or perhaps it was John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. Regardless, Route 66 is an iconic landmark. Established in 1926, it was the country’s first all-weather highway, connecting Chicago to Los Angeles.
The highway spans more than 2,500 miles across the United States, 400 of those miles residing in Oklahoma.
