Chicken Eggs
Approximately 697.1 million eggs were produced on Oklahoma layer farms in 2018. Each of the roughly 300 million laying birds in the U.S. produces from 250 to 300 eggs a year. In total, the U.S. produces about 75 billion eggs a year, about 10% of the world supply. Chicken eggs brought the state $78.8 million in annual cash receipts.
FARM FACT: A large-size egg supplies 12.6% of the Daily Reference Value for protein.
