Greek Steak Kebabs

Greek kebabs made with sirloin steak and garden-fresh veggies make a tasty addition to any backyard barbecue.

Ingredients

Marinade

  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Kebabs

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak
  • 2 large red bell peppers
  • 2 large green bell peppers
  • 2 red onions
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. Whisk all the marinade ingredients together and add to a shallow dish or large zip-close bag. Cut the sirloin steak into 1- to 2-inch cubes, and then marinate for 2 to 6 hours in the refrigerator.
  2. Cut the peppers and onion into chunks and toss with the pepper, salt, oregano and oil.
  3. Once the meat is done, remove it from the marinade and pat dry with a paper towel.
  4. Preheat grill to 500 degrees. Thread the steak, peppers and onions onto wood or metal skewers with each kebab having about 4 pieces of meat.
  5. Cook the kebabs 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  6. Let them sit for about 5 minutes and then serve.
