Garlic Shrimp and Grits

Ingredients
- 1 pound medium-size fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup whipping cream
- ¼ cup (½ stick) butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup quick-cooking grits, uncooked
- 1 cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- fresh chives, to garnish
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, add water, cream, butter and salt, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium, and whisk in grits. Cook, whisking constantly, 7-8 minutes or until mixture is smooth.
- Stir in shrimp, cheese and garlic. Cook until shrimp turn pink.
- Garnish with fresh chives.
