Soybeans and corn were Virginia’s fifth- and sixth-leading commodities for 2022 cash receipts, respectively. Farmers across the Commonwealth harvested 610,000 acres of soybeans in 2022, resulting in the production of more than 25 million bushels. The state’s 2022 corn harvest encompassed 340,000 acres of corn for grain, producing over 56 million bushels of the crop. More than 2 million tons of corn for silage were also produced that year from a harvest of 95,000 acres.
